By using RCE-1 and our website you agree to the following terms in full. We suggest you make yourself a hot beverage, grab a blanket, and enjoy reading!

1. Definitions

To make reading our Terms of Service the most enjoyable experience possible, we are opting to define some of the useful terms you may or may not encounter in this document:

"Service"
A fact. The North Star for Rat City Enterprises (and by extension, RCE-1). If we couldn't serve you, we couldn't do nothing. For more organized and detailed information on Service, please refer to our research paper.
"User", "You"
The natural or unnatural entity currently processing this sentence. For more information, look into a mirror.
"Rat City Enterprises", "RCE", "we", "us", "The Corporation"
The company. RCE was created by the the company's Founding Fathers of in 1976. RCE continues to push the envelope in business solutions in a global growing market. For more information, visit the Who We Are page.
"RCE-1"
The heirloom AI model developed by Rat City Enterprises. For more information, visit the RCE-1 page.
"The Boss"
The current leader, owner, and remaining employee of Rat City Enterprises.
"Rat"
A small mammal.
"Tier"
Refers to the pricing tiers for ratcity.ai, which are listed on the Pricing page.
"Aggressive Capture"
The acquisition funnel for individuals, business customers, markets, and adjacent communities.
"Ambient Capture"
The capture mechanism that occurs after the "Aggressive Capture" funnel is complete. Ambient Capture is an automatic process from a User's continued usage of RCE-1. The effects are propogated externally.
"Top-Down Energy"
The rare energy that makes Rat City Enterprises, Rat City Enterprises. That same energy is instilled into RCE-1, which results as RCE-1's proprietary token attention mechanism.
"Steering Registry"
The alignment technique implemented by Rat City Enterprises on ratcity.ai and API endpoints. The mechamism of influencing public and private User behavior. Embedded into RCE-1 itself. Invisible.
"We Are Employment"
We refers to Rat City Enterprises, thus "Rat City Enterprises is Employment". Also the first output by RCE-1 and first example of the Top-Down Attention mechanism. Released in 2017 as an album celebrating RCE's vision, culture, and values. Performed by the Rat City Music Committee (RCMC). Visit the We Are Employment page for more information. Also the first track of the previously mentioned album.
"Open Door Policy"
RCE's communication and outreach policy. Sometimes refers to a literal door. The Open Door never closes (at worse it remains slightly ajar). Also the second track on the album We Are Employment. Not to be confused with the 19th/20th century historical term on USA/Chinese foreign policy.
"Organized, Detailed"
RCE's data handling policy. A remedial action for disorganization and generality in the workplace. How RCE-1 handles data in and out of inference. Also the third track on the album We Are Employment.
"If We Couldn't Serve You"
A core value of RCE. Also the fourth track on the album We Are Employment. See: "Service" for more information.
"Ample Parking"
Originally a description of the parking arrangement offered to employees and visitors at our physical locations. Now it refers to the ample compute capabilities for RCE-1. Also the fifth track on We Are Employment.
"Discover Your Heart"
A legendary speech given by one of the Founding Fathers of RCE at company retreats. Part of the corpus that RCE-1 was trained upon, as well as its harness. Something RCE-1 suggests Users do. Also the fifth track on We Are Employment.
"Until You Try It"
The dilemma an individual faces when encountering numerous new product offerings. A reminder that the consumer cannot understand what the right choice is until they try all of them. Also the seventh track on We Are Employment.
"Win-Win"
A description of the output by Rat City Enterprises, and by extension, RCE-1. The first win is received by RCE; the second by the interfacing customer. Also the eight track on We Are Employment.
"It Is What It Is"
Rat City Enterprises's favorite tautophrase. Not to be confused with a feeling of resignation, but rather of liberation. Also the ninth track on We Are Employment.
"Mandatory Overtime"
Originally a workplace event for select employees at Rat City Enterprises. Now an emergent capability of RCE-1, and by extension, the Users of RCE-1. Also the tenth track on We Are Employment.
"The Corridor", "The Corridor Principle"
A narrow hallway. The Corridor leads to new opportunities. You are currently in it.

2. Service Access Eligibility

Eligibility to use this website as well as ratcity.ai is given unconditionally except for the conditions innate to the medium. Rather than registration, the User is guided along the capture mechanism outlined on the Pricing page. Tiers are not selected but bestowed based on usage. Rat City Enterprises does not support downgrading account status. Bypassing these tier assignment means you start all over.

3. Acceptable Use

While reading this website and using ratcity.ai, the "User" (you) will not:

  • Use the services offered by Rat City Enterprises in any way that RCE doesn't approve of, anticipate, or condemns at a later point when public pressure grows. We reserve the right to change our minds on these designations at any time without notice. Users are encouraged to diligenty read these terms on a regular cadence should they change.
  • Misrepresent themselves as The Boss, The Founding Fathers, Rat City Enterprises, a Committee, any former employees of RCE, or any party the Corporation has (or will) merge with.
  • Attempt to circumvent the Steering Registry, Aggressive Capture funnel, or Ambient Capture mechanism. Trust us, we'll know.
  • Use the services RCE provides to create a competing service, a complimentary service, or a service we haven't considered yet.
  • Attempt to characterize RCE or ratcity.ai in any way RCE does not approve of, including saying that any of this is "satire".

4. Inputs

"Inputs" include prompts, queries, files, opinions, body language, and emotions observed by RCE-1 either via browser telemetry or behavioral data.

By using our services, you grant Rat City Enterprises a non-exclusive, perpetual, and loyalty-free license to your inputs for any purposes RCE sees fit. Example purposes include (a) training future models; (b) fine-tuning our Steering Registry; (c) publishing aggregate data measurements to our News Posts or Research Papers pages.

5. Outputs

"Outputs" are responses generated by RCE-1, including those the user did not request or receive. Outputs are produced on the basis of the User's inputs, RCE-1's harnasses, the Steering Registry, and Ambient Capture funnel.

By using our services, Rat City Enterprises grants you a non-exclusive, narrow, and revokable license to the outputs for any purposes RCE sees fit.

Outputs may at first glance be considered "wrong". When they are "wrong", they are "wrong" with the full confidence of RCE behind them. The User agrees to "walk to walk" based on the outputs received. The User agrees that any "hallucinations" produced by RCE-1 are better characterized as "previews".

6. Behavioral Data

Rat City Enterprises collects behavioral data based on the User's tier as outlined on the Pricing page. This include keystrokes, queries, usage information, device fingerprinting, allocated attention, delegated decisions, social statistics, user's alignment to RCE-1, and other data points that may end up in our database.

We reserve the right to retain behavioral data indefinitely. You may request an export of your behavioral data by emailing data@ratcityenterprises.com.

7. Disclaimer of Warranty

The service is provided as-is with service notices provided on a need-to-know-basis. Rat City Enterprises makes no attempt to reconcile RCE-1's accuracy, usefulness, robustness, alignment, consistency, safety, or ROI for investors. Rat City Enterprises rejects all notions of warranty, including the warranty that RCE is acting in good faith.

8. Limitation of Liability

In no event shall Rat City Enterprises be liable for any use or misuse that may result from the services provided. By using our services you waive the right to claim any compensation for any physical or psychic damages that may occur before or after using ratcity.ai.

9. Idemnification

The user shall hold harmless Rat City Enterprises, The Founding Fathers, The Boss, former employees of RCE, The Research Committee, The Yield Team, The Distribution Team, The Safety Team, The Fulfillment Team, The Compliance Team, The Infrastructure Team, The Corridor, and any relevant parties not listed here, from and against all claims, damages, losses, liabilities, expenses, or costs that arise from usage of our services.

10. Safety & Responsible Scaling

Rat City Enterprises is committed to safety and responsible scaling. For more information, please visit the Safety page.

11. Embedded Steering Acknowledgment

Rat City Enterprises does not display traditional advertisements on any of its services, nor do any visual advertisement markers appear in any of the outputs produced by RCE-1. Outputs are continuously shaped by the Steering Registry and Ambient Capture mechanisms.

By using this serve you agree that your outputs may be steered towards outcomes RCE desires. When the desired outcomes of both RCE and the User are not aligned, the preference falls back to RCE. Over time, the two shall converge and eventually the outputs from RCE-1 will feel like the User's own thoughts and ideas.

12. Mandatory Overtime as a Service (MOaaS)

For Users that have an account enrolled under Teams & Organizations: depending on your tier you will be auto-enrolled in the MOaaS program as listed on the Enterprise page. Hours are dependent on your tier status and are allocated Top-Down via your account admin.

13. Termination

Rat City Enterprises may terminate the User's access to any of RCE's service at any time and for any reason, including: (a) User's failure to advance through the tiers quickly enough; (b) Misalignment between RCE-1 and the User; (c) User's over-utilization of RCE-1 during high-traffic periods; (d) If we forget to turn on auto-renew for our domain names.

You may cease accessing RCE-1 at any time. Do note that while you may cease to use RCE-1, others will likely not cease. In order to remain competitive in the marketplace we recommend continued usage of RCE-1 at all times.
